Terms of Service

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of the uPortal platform, operated by ICY Media Chibeza Mvula, registered in Poland (NIP 1231477725, address: Postępu 11, 02-676 Warszawa, Poland).

By creating an account or using uPortal, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Definitions

uPortal is an online learning environment operated by Unlearn English, a brand owned by ICY Media.
Learner / User / You – any person registering or using the services.
Language Coach – a verified tutor or native speaker responsible for delivering sessions (lessons).
Session – an individual or group class conducted online or (in future) on-site at Unlearn HQ.
Membership / Package – paid access that includes a defined number of sessions or features.

3. Scope of Services

uPortal provides language-learning and communication-training services through live online sessions and, from 2026, optional in-person sessions at Unlearn HQ.

Users can:

Register an account,
Book and attend sessions individually or in groups,
Manage subscriptions and payments,
Communicate with language coaches and learners through built-in chat tools.

ICY Media, the parent organization of Unlearn English, may update, improve, or suspend features at any time while maintaining the overall purpose of the platform.

4. User Accounts

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
Multiple accounts for the same person are not permitted without approval.
ICY Media reserves the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.

5. Payments and Subscriptions

Payments are processed securely via WooCommerce Payments / Stripe and may support Apple Pay, Google Pay, BLIK, and credit/debit cards (VISA, Mastercard).
All payments are processed in Polish złoty (PLN) unless otherwise stated.
All prices include applicable VAT where required.
Access to paid features begins once payment is confirmed.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the next billing date in the user dashboard.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

Pay-as-You-Go Sessions: cancellations made at least 6 hours before the scheduled start are eligible for a refund. Late cancellations or no-shows are non-refundable.
Approved refunds are processed within 1–3 business days to the original payment method.
Memberships and Packages: refund requests must be sent to support@uportal.pl. Requests are reviewed individually and may result in partial or prorated refunds.
Refunds are not guaranteed if services have already been delivered or accessed.

ICY Media reserves the right to refuse refund requests that fall outside the stated conditions.

7. Trial Sessions

Each new user is entitled to one free 20-minute trial session.
The trial is personal, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash or extended credit.
ICY Media reserves the right to deny additional free trials to users who have already participated.

8. Code of Conduct

To maintain a respectful learning environment:

Users must behave courteously during sessions and in chat.
Discriminatory, offensive, or disruptive behavior is strictly prohibited.
Recording or redistributing lessons without written consent is forbidden.
ICY Media may suspend or terminate accounts violating this section without prior notice.
Users are encouraged to report inappropriate behavior through their account dashboard or via support@uportal.pl

9. Intellectual Property

All content, graphics, and materials on uPortal are the property of ICY Media or its licensors.
Users may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any material without prior authorization.

The “uPortal” and “Unlearn English” names and logos are registered trademarks of ICY Media.

10. Limitation of Liability

While ICY Media strives to provide continuous, high-quality service, the company is not liable for:

Temporary interruptions due to maintenance or technical issues,
Losses resulting from improper user behavior or misuse,
Indirect or consequential damages.
Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for the service in question.

11. Termination of Access

ICY Media may suspend or terminate access to any user who breaches these Terms or applicable laws.
Users may delete their accounts at any time through their profile settings or by contacting support@uportal.pl.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved by the courts of Warsaw, Poland.
